What is the meaning behind Defend This Line?
““When you see an officer at work, and time permits, thank him or her, and let them know the true depth of your feeling of confidence you have in their service.””
Police departments, police work, and even individual police officers are under assault in our country and in our city. The objective of the political factions spearheading this anti-police movement is not mere well-meaning criticisms. It is their objective to diminish and eviscerate the authority and power of police officers everywhere. Their offensive is aimed at the beating hearts of men and women who every day place their very lives in jeopardy to protect social order and serve the well-being of the social fabric of our lives. “Defending This Line” means standing up and fighting this foolish offensive. The time for the community to contemplate is fast coming to a close.
Police officers don’t want adulation; they don’t ask for it, and they are not inclined to seek it when asked. They simply want a chance to do this difficult job, this incredible balancing act between rights and responsibilities, to the best of their abilities day by day, encounter by encounter. And at the end of every day they want to go home to their loved ones unharmed.
The incident here in Albuquerque has been a media driven narrative of the foes of policing authority, not the truth. It has been aided and abetted by woeful leadership at the loftiest levels of our government. The truth was revealed at the hearing during the defense presentation. That is where the line was drawn. Won’t you now join us in stopping the assault?
When you see an officer at work, and time permits, thank him or her, and let them know the true depth of your feeling of confidence you have in their service. Let them know that you too are helping to DEFEND THIS LINE!
It is now your time. Donate if you can. Write letters to the newspapers. Show support in your social media and in your social organizations. Help turn the tide in Albuquerque and in our nation…….before it is too late.
